Who We Are

Supporting Union Contractors Since 1965

The PMCA was established in 1965 and has as its mission to provide services to industrial and commercial contractors that employ skilled, union labor. We promote the welfare of our members in the construction industries in which they are engaged through positive labor relations with the skilled trades, and engaging in good-faith collective bargaining. The goal is to establish and maintain peaceful and profitable relationships between Employers, Employees (as well as their respective Union Representatives), and Owners.

Building Trades at the Heart of Our Success

By employing men and women from various Building Trades Unions, our Contractors gain access to the most skilled, safest and professional local workers – the perfect model for industrial and commercial construction projects. The PMCA and its Affiliated Divisions work hard to maintain positive labor relations with local Unions through partnerships in apprenticeship training, Employee benefits management, and good faith bargaining.

Safety at the Core

Our Contractors want their Employees returning home to their families uninjured at the end of every day, which is why our policy requires regular drug screenings and OSHA 10-hour training. Many Employees also acquire OSHA 30-hour certificates. First Aid and CPR training courses are also available.

Working Throughout the Appalachian Region

Our member Contractors construct and maintain facilities in southeast Ohio, all of West Virginia, all but a few counties in Virginia, and the western half of Pennsylvania. The PMCA is active in organizing and participating in tri-partite meetings across the region, so that Contractors, Unions, and Owners (our customers) can come together to discuss and collaborate regarding construction and maintenance projects.
